From Pittsburghese to Klingon: A Public Art Walking Tour

This walking tour is for you, yinzer Star Trek fans! The Office of Public Art in the ‘burgh is offering a public art walking tour in both Klingon and English (okay…Pittsburgh English). The guest speaker narrating the event is Andrew Shull-Miller, who hails from Virginia and is a Klingon linguist. Believe it or not, he has translated commercials and even operas into Klingon. 5th Annual Harvest Tasting

This farm to table experience is a casual get-together for foodies to enjoy locally grown foods. Come out to meet fellow food lovers and try new local dishes. Come check out indie group Tegan and Sara at this concert at Stage AE. Identical Canadian twin sisters Tegan and Sara started playing guitar and writing songs at 15. Dare devils will want to check out this one! Maigican Lee Terbosic of America’s Got Talent fame will do an upside-down straight jacket escape stunt above the streets of Pittsburgh. What does this have to do with Houdini? Well, he performed the very same stunt 100 years ago on this very day in the exact same location. Get down to Liberty Ave. and Wood St. before noon, that is when Terbosic is scheduled to be on. There’s also a Steelers watch party afterwards at Ten Penny. Free, More information click here.

EQT Pittsburgh 10-Miler

One of the most popular races of the fall, the 10-mile race is put on by the nonprofit P3R which promotes the love of running and community access to health and fitness activities and learning.
