Pro Bike + Run, originally founded in 1984 as Pittsburgh Pro Bikes, has pioneered the effort to put Pittsburgh on the map for cycling. Creating the Thrift Drug Classic International Cycling Race and working with the City of Pittsburgh to create the Bud Harris cycling track along Washington Boulevard was a start.
But that’s not all. Craig Cozza, who took over Pittsburgh Pro Bikes in 2008, strives to create a community focused organization. Sponsoring over 300 group rides, runs or walks a year and over 150 instructional classes and events, Pro Bike + Run continues to maintain strong themes of community service, health and wellness, all while offering a superior customer experience.
A recent acquisition of Elite Runners & Walkers allows Pro Bike + Run to better serve Pittsburgh’s active community by offering a full product line of running shoes, apparel and accessories in 3 of their locations (East End, Robinson and Monroeville). Expansion of the East End store in Squirrel Hill is to be celebrated with a grand re-opening the week of May 8th.
The addition of a runner’s and walker’s selection of products is accompanied by Pittsburgh’s largest selection of bikes for everyone from the professional cyclist to those looking to enjoy a nice ride on one of the many bike paths or trails in and outside of the city.
Focusing on a healthy lifestyle is what drives the staff at Pro Bike + Run. They believe it’s people who make the difference. You’ll find the expert staff friendly and knowledgeable, but most of all passionate about an active and healthy life style… living and breathing the experience that your mind, body and spirit are one in your wellness.
