1. The Burgh Bites Truck

Dubbed “Pittsburgh’s mobile bistro,” the Burgh Bites Truck serves up sandwiches, loaded hot dogs and delicious seasoned tortilla chips. The Southern Slaw Dog is a noteworthy addition to the menu, with pork shoulder, barbecue sauce, pickles, cheddar jack cheese and slaw. Their Rastafarian sandwich is often raved about, with Jamaican jerk chicken, corn and mango salsa, charred chili pepper aioli and greens served in a grilled pita.

2. The Mac & Gold Truck

This food truck that sells gourmet mac and cheese with incredible toppings. Dubbed Pittsburgh’s original mac and cheese truck, there are multiple toppings like club sandwich (turkey and ham), crab, artichoke and spinach, chicken and mushrooms, asparagus and tomatoes and many, many more. The menu is a seasonal rotation of favorites and there are delicious sides too like rosemary-garlic handcut fries and seasonal salads.

3. Oh My Grill

Staying on the cheesy side, this food truck serves up classic grilled cheese and twists on grilled cheese as well. Each sandwich is served on fresh bread from bakery Bread Works and served with a homemade dipping sauce. If you like the classic grilled cheese there’s a tomato dipping sauce. If you want something spicy, try the buffalo chicken sauce. There’s even sides like baked macaroni and cheese, parmesan spinach balls, loaded baked potato salad, spicy pasta salad and tabbouleh salad.

4. PGH Taco Truck

There’s just something extra delicious about a taco truck and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. Enjoy mouthwatering tacos like the Baja fish, traditional ground beef and Thai peanut chicken with sweet chili slaw, just to name a few. PGH Taco Truck was voted the city’s best food truck for five years running.

5. The Pittsburgh PO Boy

This well-received food truck sells incredible po’boy sandwiches. Perfectly seasoned sandwiches like delicious juicy shrimp or chicken and sausage make for a truly wonderful lunch or dinner. The bread comes from Gambino’s, a New Orleans bakery. There are even muffalettas and gumbo served out of the food truck, which is a great bet for any Southern imports to the ‘burgh.

6. PGH Crepes

This food truck has been serving up crepes to the Pittsburgh area since 2013. Their dessert crepes are to die for—try the banana Nutella crepe topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream or the berry crepe with your choice of berries. They also serve up crepes at local events too, weddings, birthday parties, you name it.

7. India on Wheels

  1. How about Sweet Sips Cafe, a mobile coffee truck that provides excellent coffee and is reasonably priced. That would be great with crepes!
