We here at Pittsburgh Beautiful love giving back. What better day to consider making a donation than today, Giving Tuesday. Since 2013, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has been designated a national day designated for giving back. Here are five charities we love that we wanted to highlight. If you have a favorite charity, let us know in the comments. Don’t forget to include a link on how to donate for those who are interested!

1. Homeless Children’s Education Fund

Giving Tuesday

We featured the Homeless Children’s Education Fund earlier this year. The mission of the fund is to advance the education of children and youth who are experiencing homelessness and to guide them to be productive and empowered citizens through collaboration and advocacy. They work with 27 homeless agencies in Allegheny County to create learning centers within the shelters.

The Little Sisters of the Poor collect money for their charity during the breakfast. The charity works to serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world.
