Spring Hill

Spring Hill

Spring Hill, located in Pittsburgh’s North Side, was named for the natural springs located in the neigborhood.  The mid 19th century saw a large influx of German immigrants to the area, lasting until the 1920’s.  This gave the neighborhood a “Bavarian” atmosphere, with street names such as Rhine, Haslage, Zoller and Woessner.

Named for its hilly topography, panoramic view of the city, and natural underground springs, its neighboring communities include Northview Heights, Spring Garden, and Troy Hill.

Spring Hill is conveniently located near I-579 and I-279, as well as Route 28, and is five minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Its location gives the community easy accessibility to retail and recreation in both downtown Pittsburgh and the surrounding area.
